Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Burnett is a long-time resident of Pelham, Alabama, who saw the need for more accessible audiology services for the Shelby, Chilton and therefore founded Oak Mountain Hearing Associates. As a hearing-impaired audiologist who has worn hearing aids since she was 4 years old, Dr. Burnett has a deep understanding of what it is like to live with hearing loss and hearing aids. She is passionate about helping her patients find affordable, personalized solutions to hear better and experience a better quality of life.

Dr. Burnett has over 35 years of experience in patient care, clinical and hearing loss treatment working with a variety of patient populations and fitting the most current hearing aid technology during her tenure at Hoover based ENT clinic. Dr. Burnett received her undergraduate degree in 1986 and Master’s degree in Communication Disorders specializing in Audiology in 1988 from Auburn University. Dr. Burnett did her internship with the Baylor College of Medicine and The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas in 1988 under the direction of Dr. James Jerger, who considered the father of modern audiology.

Dr. Burnett enjoys visiting and spending time with her family and friends, playing with her 3 dogs, Emma, Chip and Samuel, watching any Auburn sporting event, spending time at the lake and eating good Mexican or Italian food with an occasional brownie.

As a member of two national organizations, Dr. Burnett is committed to providing personalized care in a warm and inviting setting.
